I always liked the saying that even the worst notes are better than the best memory. Lately I’ve seen quite a few people keeping weekly journals, so I figured I’d start one too. This is the first entry.
We left home at 8:30 in the morning and took my daughter to the municipal hospital so the doctor could check how her lower-leg surgery was healing. The good news was that she had recovered. The only remaining issue was the scar after the operation, which, according to the doctor, was unavoidable, so we’ll have to look into some other way of dealing with that.
After we left the hospital, we stopped by the club to use a coupon for air-conditioner cleaning. Even though it was a free cleaning, the service was surprisingly good. At least to me, the air conditioner seemed to work much better afterward. While we were there, I also asked about insurance. They said they could match online pricing and would include services worth 15% of the insured amount, things like one maintenance session or two car washes. I didn’t make a decision on the spot. Better to compare a few options first.
By the time we finally made it to the 4S dealership, it was close to 11. I went there to deal with bubbling in the tint on the rear window. They agreed to replace it for free as well, but the morning schedule was already full, so they told us to come back in the afternoon.
Since we had some time, I stopped by SEG Digital Plaza to pick up the surveillance recorder I had sent in for repairs the week before last. That part went smoothly.
At noon we had lunch at my father-in-law’s place. His family runs a factory, and over the meal we talked quite a bit about business. His view was that everything is moving online now, and that traditional industries will gradually decline over the next few years if they fail to catch trends like Internet Plus and the Belt and Road initiative.
At 2 in the afternoon we went back to the 4S dealership. The air conditioning in the waiting lounge was pleasantly cool, and my daughter happily played on the computer there. Before we knew it, an hour and a half had passed. The new window film was done, and after that we headed home.
That was my Sunday: a bit scattered, a bit busy, but worth writing down anyway.
